Halloween Parade

So Longmont is definitely growing on us. They are all about festivals and parades. Today was the Halloween Parade down Main Street, which was officially the cutest thing EVER. There were a zillion kids and parents dressed up and everyone walked down Main Street together and then the kids could trick or treat back up the street at all the stores. James busted out costume #2, his monkey suit! (he listened to his public that voted in the poll on his blog last month) and Tim passed out glow in the dark tooth brushes to promote The Britches. (we used James' banana trick or treat bag to carry the tooth brushes in-thanks Mel!)
James loved seeing all the bigger kids in costumes, and kept pointing to people (which was beyond adorable in his little monkey-mitten hands) and declaring "Da!" to everyone he saw, and he would wave to people-see picture above. We were sad to see that a ton of people had also brought their dogs dressed up, and we had left the poor schnoodle at home :-( We had wanted to dress Jax up as a banana, but could not find a dog banana costume (why not?!) So we settled for dressing him up in his old pumpkin costume when we got home so that he could partake in the festivities. He liked it a little better this year (although it was a little tighter) than the last time he wore it. When we put it on him 2 years ago, he lifted his leg and peed on our coffee table.

Some of the cutest costumes we saw were a mini Captain Hook complete with an awesome wig, 2 little brothers dressed up as a fire fighter and a dalmation riding in a fire engine push car, and a baby dressed up as a spider and a mom dressed up as a spider web wearing the baby in a carrier. We had so much fun, and I think it will be even more fun as James gets older and can enjoy it with us even more!
PS-James wants to give a shout out to his new cousin-to-be, coming April '09!!!! Amberly is pregnant with baby #2, and we are all so thrilled for her, Steve, and Miss Taylor Kate!! (soon to be a big sister!)

Very cute! I wish we could have come. It makes me homesick for CO. Z would have been a hit in her superhero costume, although a monkey and a superhero don't go together as well as Pebbles and BamBam.

So why didn't Tim wear a costume? As long as you were breaking out old ones for Jax, you should have unpacked the pink unicorn.
