Oh Christmas Tree

On Saturday we cut down our Christmas tree with the O'Reilly family for the second year in a row. It is such a fun tradition and one we are so happy that they have shared with us! The weather was insanely nice and there wasn't even any snow on the ground. James and George liked digging in the dirt with sticks and looking for bears better than looking for the perfect tree.

After some hiking, Tim found the perfect tree for us and James helped him cut it down.
Mac slept through the whole thing in the wrap.
After cutting down our tree and the O'Reilly's 4 trees (they are serious about Christmas) we went to the fire station for lunch and Santa visits. James is an old pro at Santa Claus after last year. He told Santa he wanted a Toy Story thing and that Mac wants a Lovey. When pressed for details, James elaborates that he wants a plastic Buzz Lightyear in a box.

We wasted no time in decorating our tree and putting up all our decorations as soon as we got home! James is SO excited about Christmas this year. So excited in fact that he randomly yells, "I'm so excited for Chirstmas!" throughout the day. We can't wait to enjoy all of our favorite things about the holiday season with both our boys this year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for this year, and every year. Topping our list of things to be thankful for this year, our newest turkey Cormac and his newborn smiles....
and his big brother James, the sweetest 3 year old in the world. I am so thankful for our 2 healthy, happy and perfect boys.
We spent the holiday in the mountains at the cabin with the whole Nichols' family. It was snowy, cold and beautiful. My only contribution to the meal were the pies, which Cormac helped me to make while taking a marathon nap in his wrap Wednesday afternoon.
We spent a lot of time relaxing, reading, playing games and eating. The perfect holiday!
Even though it only got up to 8 degrees on Thanksgiving, the sun was shining all day and it was beautiful outside. James loved playing in the snow in his astronaut suit (AKA his snow suit and boots). He shoveled, went sledding, tried out his skis and played on the ATV's.
Mac even bundled up for a few minutes of fresh air. He fell asleep the second we walked outside into the cold air.

Ready to eat!

An Obscene Amount of Random Photos

James is still obsessed with dressing up in random things from our room, preferably the dirty clothes hamper. Anytime I am hanging out in bed nursing Cormac, James throws together a crazy outfit.
Making a shoe train.
Still obsessed with his train table and all things Thomas. It's a good thing too since he has an absurd amount of it. Santa will NOT be bringing anything Thomas to this house this year.
And now some picture of Mac Mac.
Sharing some grins with Grampa.
Cormac is already almost in 3-6 month clothes. Since James didn't start wearing 3-6 month clothes until April or May, I had to buy Mac some wintery things. Shoot, I hate shopping :-P Here he is thrilled to be modeling a new outfit. I am a sucker for anything involving a matching hat.

Bath time!
Does this look like Fat James, or what?
Thanks to Jordan for the new towel :-)

A half-smile, I think it looks like he is saying, "Ole!"
We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! We are heading up to the mountains tomorrow to the cabin with the whole Nichols family. We will head back on Saturday and cut down our Christmas tree with the O'Reilly family. We can't wait!!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Cormac has been spoiled with gifts since his arrival. We have been receiving so many wonderful gifts for him that we appreciate so much from friends, family and randoms in the dental community. These boots were part of a package from a dentist in Loveland that we have never met before. Thanks random dentist, they have been keeping Mac's feet nice and cozy in our cold weather.
Shout out to Tonia-do you recognize the above outfit? You bought it for James when he was born :-)
Uncle EE got to meet his beloved nephew when he was in town for the CU game last weekend. We could not pry Mac away from him. It was love at first sight.
James is a big fan of having He-Who watch whatever it is he is doing. Here is Mac checking out James painting Spiderman.
Another favorite past time of James' is to play in our closet and make a giant mess out of our clothes and shoes.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

Big Bro/Baby Bro

James and Cormac got these super cute shirts (and hat) in the mail from Grandma Barb (AKA-Amberly's mom). We had 2 very happy boys this morning so I thought I would take advantage of their moods to get some cute brotherly love pictures.
Could they be any cuter? Thanks for the outfits Barb!

Smiles and Superman

We got our first smiles from Cormac this week! Excuse his terrible baby acne and just focus on his cute grin instead. He has started to be awake a little bit more and now that he is actually opening his eyes, we think he is looking more and more like James did as a baby.
I am pushing the pacifier big time and Mac is sometimes a fan and other times spits it right out.
Just lounging.
The number one thing that James has picked up from the older kids at preschool is an impressive amount of knowledge about super heroes. Everything he plays now involves super heroes and super powers. He has never read a book or seen any show involving any type of super hero, yet somehow is very well versed in all things Spiderman, Superman, Batman, and Captain America. And of course his favorite personal creation, Super Alien.
We were shopping at the Gap and James saw this Superman shirt complete with velcro attached cape and fell in love. I really couldn't resist once I saw how happy it made him. He spent the whole day pretending to fly.
