Riley Roo and the Rockies too!

We had a great weekend.   On Saturday afternoon, we headed down to Arvada to hang out with the Seeman/Nelson families and James got to hang out with his good buddy Riley Roo.  He enjoyed hoarding all of her toys and food, while we enjoyed taking some pictures that will be great to embarrass them with at a later date.  On Sunday we went to the Rockies game with Tim's parents. James is still quite the baseball fan and was excited to wear his baseball hat and shirt.

We decided this will be the first picture in the slide show at their wedding/rehearsal dinner in 25 or so years (arranged marriages are making a comeback):

Hard Hat

James wanted to wear his hard hat that he got from the museum the rest of the day.  He went and got his Rockies hat and made sure I knew that was his baseball hat and this was his truck hat.  I had to laugh when James came outside looking like this after dinner and started watering the garden.  He makes me laugh every day.

Little Builders

Today we went to check out the grand opening of a new exhibit at Longmont's museum called Little Builders.  They had free hard hats and a bunch of trucks and tractors outside the museum for the kids to climb on.  James was pretty excited to see so many trucks up close.  As you can see from these pictures, trucks and tractors are pretty serious business to this little boy.

Erin and Alec and Holland and Riley joined us, and Alec was just as impressed with the trucks and tractors as James was.

Inside the museum there were a lot of neat things geared at toddlers, so all the kids had a great time.  James was so busy, it was impossible to get a picture of him actually looking at the camera, but here are some pictures of him enjoying exploring all of the construction related exhibits.  It was insanely crowded today (I think a lot of people were enticed by the free hard hats and trucks like we were) so we will need to go back on a normal day when it is not so crazy.

We Love Tuesdays!

Tuesday has become our favorite day of the week.  Tim has Tuesdays off for now and for some reason having him home on a week day seems much more exciting than a weekend.  We have James' music class in the mornings, and then after lunch and naps ever since Chloe was born, we head up to Ft Collins.  We bring Steve and Amberly dinner, get in our Chloe snuggles, and Taylor and James can play.  Today Tim had gotten them pinwheels to play with, and James discovered Taylor's bike.  James spent the whole evening riding the bike or asking for the bike anytime he was not on it.

Even though his feet don't quite reach the pedals, he loves being pushed around on it and wearing the "bike hat."

He reluctantly agreed to let Taylor ride her own bike for awhile as long as he got to help push.

This post also reminded me that James has been putting together 2 words for a couple of weeks now.  "More please," is his most frequent 2 word sentence.  This week it has been followed closely by: "Baseball hat," and "Elmo book."

Never Say Never....

It seems as though not letting James watch tv did not keep him from falling in love with a television character anyway.  Much like his cousin, Taylor Kate, James has developed a bizarre obsession with Elmo that seemingly came out of nowhere.  It was actually the first word he ever said without any prompting from one of us.  He saw a picture of Elmo, and clear as day exclaimed, "Elmo!" And it has been true love ever since.  His Grandma bought him an Elmo doll (that thank God does not talk or sing) while she was here, and James has woken up the past 2 mornings saying, "Elmo, Elmo, Elmo!"  At least it isn't Barney.....

Boulder with Ama

James has enjoyed having his Grandma Fererro visit this week.  He can't say Grandma yet, and after saying Memaw before her visit anytime we asked him to say Grandma, he settled on Ama the day she got here, which we think sounds a little more my mom's style than Memaw did.  So Ama it is until he can figure out that darn hard g sound.  We all missed my dad this visit, especially James, but we assured him that Grandpa Jim would be here for a visit soon.  So this visit my mom was lucky enough to get all of James' undivided attention for once.  Here are some pictures from today where we spent our afternoon enjoying Pearl Street in Boulder.

Dancing Machine Part 2

Here is James dancing to his favorite song.  Please note that anytime and anywhere this song comes on, he recognizes it within the first couple of seconds and he starts to say, "Uh uh! Uh uh!" I am pretty sure he is a musical genius. He loves music and he loves to dance. (PS to Jordan, Lacey and Holland-I think that was a line from Girls Just Want to Have Fun)  Sorry the videos are sideways.  I don't know how to flip them-feel free to clue me in if you know how.

Dancing Machine

Here is James getting down with some Lady Gaga before dinner with Bess tonight.

Take James Out To The Ball Game!

Today I took James to his first Rockies game of the season.  He was absolutely engrossed in every single second of the game.  He never got bored or antsy, and when we went up to get a snack, he immediatley wanted to get back down to the seats!  Keeping with tradition of last season, he even made it on the jumbotron!  Here we are in our seats, he was far to involvedwith watching the ball game to be bothered with looking and/or smiling at the camera.
We had quite the crew with us; Anne and baby George, Holland and Riley, Barb (Amberly's mom) and Taylor, and Katie.  All the babies did great!

Taylor and James enjoyed the last 2 innings in the aisle where they could get a better view and wave to Dinger.

James admired Dinger, the mascot, from a safe distance.  He waved, blew kisses, clapped, and said, "More," anytime Dinger left.
The love for Dinger lasted until we were within touching distance and then he quickly changed his mind.
Dinger can join Santa in the list of James' least favorite people/characters.
We will definitely be going to more games this season since James had such a great time (despite the Dinger trauma), and since he has such a great new Rockies outfit-thanks Mimi!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the other mamas out there!  Here is me and my little mama's boy this morning.  I have to also add this picture of Baby Chloe who we got to see again today.  She is so cute and perfect and snuggly!

Outside!

If James is awake he lately demands, "Out, out!" while wildly pointing outside.  He likes to play in his sand and water table, throw rocks, dig in the dirt, and find sticks.  We are loving the perfect spring weather and I am not excited for when it gets super hot and it will not be as nice to spend all day outdoors.  Today we went to the local nursery and got vegetable for our garden. We planted an heirloom tomato plant, sweet peppers, strawberries, cucumber, zucchini, arugula, lettuce, and some herbs.  We will see if we can keep any of it alive long enough to actually harvest anything edible!

James is sporting his first pair of big boy shoes-Converse with laces and a hard sole!  He was super excited to put them on and kept trying to say shoes!
