Santa Breakfast Take 1

James got to have breakfast with Santa this morning which turned out to be a huge success. After some failed meetings with Santa in the past, we were not sure how this would go but James did great! Joe DeMers (one of my parents' best friends and like a second dad to me) is Santa in our old pseudo-neighborhood Meadowglen. He loves James and James LOVES Mustache Joe. James was so excited at the thought of seeing Santa this morning. But when Joe, I mean Santa, first came in the room James freaked and said, "No thank you! No thank you! Take me away Mama!" So we went and stood in a corner until James got over his initial anxiety attack. When James saw Santa give other kids presents he warmed up pretty quickly.  At first he tried taking the Santa toys away from some other kids and once he realized that wasn't going to work, he bit the bullet and walked right up to Santa and climbed on his lap.
"Hey, this Santa guy isn't so bad afterall!"
It helped that Santa knew James' name and called to him and waved at him from across the room.  He even knew that James had a dog named Jax and that he likes mustaches. Santa is one smart guy.

James got a present which he got to unwrap and a candy cane. After he was done visiting with Santa I asked him what he asked Santa for and he said, "A candy cane and I got one!" He is easy to please. This whole weekend is one big Christmas extravaganza for us and we have another Santa brunch tomorrow, so stay tuned! We will see if the next Santa is as big of a hit as Mustache Joe was! Oh and yesterday we had another holiday filled day-making Christmas cookies (scroll down for that post) and seeing a light show. We stayed in Denver last night and took James to the light show at Stapleton that is choreographed to Trans Siberian Orchestra Music. James loved it and kept saying, "Look Mama! Look Daddy! The lights are dancing!" I love seeing Christmas through James' eyes!
