Legoland

We surprised James with a trip to Legoland on Saturday. We decided it was the perfect early birthday present for our own little Lego maiac. Tim and I told him he needed to come with us to run an errand (which he was not too happy about) and we just drove up to Legoland, which is about 10 minutes away from Jenny and Ian's house. This was James' face when we realized where we were. The surprise did not disappoint.
I had a Lego shirt made for him for his birthday that I brought for him to change into for his day at the park.
Legoland was the perfect place for a 5 year old. The rides were very mellow and James could do a lot of them by himself. Here we are on the Lego safari-full of animals made out of Legos of course.
For most of the big rides, the lines went around a large fenced in Lego play area. The kids could play with Legos and the meet up with their parents when it was time to get on the ride. Genius. This waiting area had ramps to race cars down that the kids built-here is James showing off his race car.
Driving his very own Lego car-he even earned a Lego driver's license.
Flying a Lego airplane with Daddy.
Riding the jousting ride all by himself.
Pretending to be a scary skeleton-the park was decorated for Halloween.
On our last ride of the day-a boat ride that toured a bunch of different model Lego landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Mt. Rushmore.

We had such a special day with James. He was completely delighted with everything at Legoland and had so much fun riding the rides and seeing everything made of Legos. Tim and I loved seeing him so happy, it was a great day for all of us.

If you move here, James could go to Legoland every week. Just saying...
