We knew the boys would love him, but we also expected some typical sibling jealousy or difficulty adjusting to having a baby in the house. We have been pleasently surprised to see that there have been no problems with either of the older boys adjusting so far. I don't know if it is because they are older or because they have each other, but they have made this transition so easy for all of us!
Both James and Mac love Benny like crazy. They are constantly telling me how cute he is, how much they love him and wanting to give him hugs, kisses and snuggles. This baby truly could not be more loved by his older brothers.
Benny has remained super sleepy his whole first month. He nurses every 3 hours during the day and pretty much sleeps in between each feeding, except for a brief period of awake time first thing in the morning and right before bed.At night, he will go 4 or 5 hours in his first stretch of sleep in the cosleeper and then sleep another 3 or 4 hours in the cosleeper before I have to take him out and put him in a wrap to walk James to school. He has even pulled off a couple nights with an initial 6 hour stretch! Compared to his brothers, he is a champion sleeper!
We haven't seen any smiles yet, but I can tell they are coming soon.
Benny loves, loves, loves being worn. He spends a lot of time wrapped up in the Moby and falls instantly to sleep. It makes walking the boys to and from school easy, and he spends a ton of time in it at home as well.
I just feel beyond lucky to have been blessed with 3 healthy, happy boys. Benny fits in perfectly to our family and we are all loving getting to know him and enjoying life as a family of 5.
