4th of July

Yesterday we spent the day in Ft Collins with the Nichols family and went to the Greeley Stampede rodeo.  After waking up in an awful mood and throwing tantrums all morning over nothing, James cowboy'd up for the rodeo and was in an awesome mood the rest of the day.  He stayed up right through his normal nap time and watched the whole rodeo, ate a ton of junk food, took a late nap in the car, had a barbeque at Mimi and Papa's and even stayed up for all the fireworks!
Sharing a popsicle with Taylor before the rodeo.

Watching the monkey rodeo from Daddy's shoulders. Don't even ask....

The hot dog eating contest. We figure with the way James eats and his slight frame, he is a perfect cantidate for some competitive eating in the future.
James' first carnival ride!
James' first carnie food, a snow cone. Not a fan.
Watching the rodeo with Mimi and Papa.  It came as no surprise that James loved every single second of the 3 hour rodeo.  He could not take his eyes off the ring.  When it first started and horses ran out, he stood up on the bleachers and clapped so hard he almost fell over backward. Tim and I took turns leaving and walking around the fair and James never wanted to leave the action.  He loved it. We are going to start training him to be in the mutton bustin competition is 2013.
Hanging out with Uncle Tommy-he is pretty funny!

It poured rain after the rodeo and there was a beautiful rainbow when the sun came back out.
Patriotic James.
Eating ice cream-his 3rd or 4th junk food of the day :-)
Watching fireworks with Daddy, Carly and Jax.  James loved them and kept saying, "Oooh pretty!" If you look closely you can see 1 of the 73 mosquitoes that bit James on the face while watching fireworks. His poor face is a disaster this morning :-(
After watching the Windsor/Greeley/Ft Collins fireworks from on top of a hill, we went back and lit off some fireworks in front of Mimi and Papa's house. James loved those as well.
He watched from a safe distance on Mimi's lap.

After staying up until almost 11, James actually slept in this morning.....until 6:45.

How fun! It sounds like you guys had an awesome day. Love the pics, especially the pictures of James eating junk food, I am glad that no one caught all of the junk food I ate yesteday on camera. We also can't wait for cowboy James' mutton bustin debut.

Dear Baby James, It is such fun to see your activities--who knew you had a future in the rodeo circut? Aside from the junk food, you must be eating lots of good, healthy stuff too because you little face and cheeks are getting so round and full. Keep up the good work. Love, Grandma Grace from California
