Crystal!

Last weekend was our annual trip to Crystal with Steff and the Andersons. We really do look forward to this trip all year long and always have such an amazing time. The second we made it up the road into Crystal, the boys were immediately out the door of the car and set to work making boats to float down the creek out of bark and leaves.

I swear there is something magic in the air up there. Everyone is so relaxed, there are no plans, no schedule, and the boys are content just running around outside. There was no whining, no fighting and Mac's yelling was down about 90% from normal.

Making some masterpieces inspired by nature.

James in front of the cabin we stayed in this year. It is two houses down from the Andersons.
One thing we do a lot of in Crystal is cook and eat. James helped "Grandma Duffy" make a homemade peach pie for dessert one night.
And the next night, the boys helped churn homemade vanilla frozen custard. Literally, the best thing I have ever tasted.
What is better than your "baby" napping on top of you in a hammock in one of your favorite places in the World? Nothing. Nothing at all.
Taking the ATV out for a spin. Mac loved it, James only joined us for a bit. I think they make him feel nervous.

As always, a perfect weekend in a perfect spot with wonderful friends. We couldn't ask for anything more!
