James and I started our weekend early and headed down to Denver early on Thursday. We spent the day at the condo and our friends Kelly and John came down to go to the Rockies game with us. The Dads met us there after they got off work. The rain kept a lot of people away-I think it was the emptiest game we have ever been to! We lasted in our seats until about the 4th inning and then moved up to where it was covered for a little longer before bailing and heading back to the condo. John and James were thrilled with the game regardless of the weather and had a great time watching a little of the game and eating a lot of treats.
Mom of the year got James french fries for dinner and then Dad of the year got him M&M's and hot cocoa as a snack. James has literally never had that much sugar before and this is what he looked like the rest of the night until he finally crashed at about 11:30. 
This is after we moved up to where it was covered (and before the sugar rush kicked in)-look how empty it was!

Friday morning we got up nice and early and met 5 of my friends who all used to teach at Swanson and all of their kids. One of my friends Natalie now does home day care so she can stay at home with her girls and she brought all 6 of her kiddos to the zoo! So we had quite the crowd with 6 of us ex-teachers and 12 kids. Luckily we had great weather the whole time we were at the zoo. Here are some of the kids checking out some animals.

Most of the crew stayed and had a picnic lunch before hitting up the train and the carousel. It was so much fun to catch up with my old co-workers and so great to see all their cute kids (and a little mind blowing to see how calmly Natalie handles 6 kids at once!) You would think that after such a late night and a busy day that James would have napped. You would be wrong.
Saturday James and I had a low key day with a friend while Tim worked a booth at the Erie Town Fair all day. On Sunday we spent the day in Ft Collins for Chloe's Baptism-Tim is her God Father. 
We don't all get this dressed up too often, so I thought it was photo worthy :-) 
Sunday was also the 4th day in a row of no nap for James. He is SOOO ready to be done with naps. And I am SOOOO not ready for him to be done with naps. We will see who is stronger willed. I have my guess. Oh and here is James' quote of the day:Me: (pointing to a baby) Is that what our baby will look like?
James: Uh, no. Baby He-Who is going to have a moustache.

Tell James I'm voting that baby He-Who not be born with a moustache! Sounds like a fun few days - and at least at the Denver zoo you didn't have to watch a condor eating a bunny....
I would be soooo excited if Natalie magically had an opening in August!!!
Zephyr has been skipping her nap about twice a week for the past few months or so. Luckily it doesn't seem to faze her at all, but Ian and I enjoy that 45 minutes each day, so we are in no rush for her to drop her paltry nap...
Hopefully Jamsey will start taking a 3 hour nap every day right when Baby HeWho is born to give you a little rest.

Ditto Anne's comment, James on a sugar high makes for a pretty silly picture. I'm sure it's not one that comes around all that often when your Dad's a dentist. And great family photo, you are all so photogenic!
Ok, love the sugar-crazed face, love the zoo and love the pics of you guys looking gorgeous and dressy. I don't know what is more funny the idea of a baby being born with a mustache or the fact that James imagines the baby coming out with a mustache -- seriously makes me laugh-cry!
