1 More Month
My dad extended a layover in Denver coming back from a business trip so that he could spend the day and night with us today. It was a great visit and we packed in a lot of fun today. The Fire Muster Parade took place on Main Street this morning, a huge hit with James and all his friends. We ate an early breakfast at Lucille's and then walked over to see the action.
My crew in the Mont-Sarah(with baby Niko on the way) and Antonia, Kelly with Colin and John, and Kileigh with Gus (making an escape) and Rocco. As you can see, besides Antonia, we have quite the boys' club so everyone is anxious to see what Baby He-Who is.
After the parade, all the trucks went to the park and were available to climb on and there were a lot of demonstrations. James got to use a fire hose to put out a (fake) fire in a house.
Checking out one of the old fashioned engines with Gus.

Today is also one month before James' 3rd birthday and (hopefully) close to 1 more month before our He-Who comes. We spent the rest of the day showering James with attention and had a mini birthday celebration with Grampa. Dinner was James' favorite-spaghetti and meatballs.
I pretended to make a cake for James' early birthday when really I just wanted a cake. Spiced cake with brown butter frosting. Yum!
What good is a month early birthday party with no present? Grampa takes good hints and after telling him what to buy James, what store to go to and where to find it in the store, he went right out and bought it while James napped. What a surprise! James' rapidly growing train collection now has a table to live on. Hooray!
What a busy and great day! Next time James gets a visit from Grampa He-Who will be here!

Looks like a wonderful day - I'm not sure who had more fun...James or Grampa!
How is it possible that it's only a month until Jamsey's 3rd? Time flies!
What a great Grandpa James has!
I have to say that was a damn near perfect Saturday for me. No question at all. Thanks Kate & Tim for having me.
Sheesh. Must I say again how awesome Longmont's festivals are? Looks like fun!
